*Trigger Warning*

Dealing with something so traumatic can easily become overbearing for the mind. Bottling up emotions & experiences can also further hinder your mental stability. Although, it’s important to acknowledge how hard it can be to speak without fear of being judged or invalidated.

My favourite Sigmund Freud quote is that ‘ Unexpressed emotions never die. They are buried alive and come forth in uglier ways.’

Therefore, it’s important to understand that there are other forms of expressing & therapy - that is through writing.

Exercise for you:

- try journalling about an experience you’re aware of/happened to you

- write about how you’ve overcome it, are in the process or still battling

- write a poem/ story retelling the event

- write what comes to mind when you think of the topic & let your pen flow!
